  • 🎢 Emotional Wheel,
  • 🏆 Use AI to get a job,
  • 🍟 and extra things to bite it…

🦾 Robocop

As someone who’s been around for a while, I remember the mind-blowing concept of merging human and robot in the first Robocop movie. Now, thanks to Brazilian scientist Miguel Nicolelis’ research, we’re making huge strides in connecting our brains to machines.

🛳️ But I know many of you are still worried about how AI will impact our industry and work environment. It’s amusing to see the different reactions from people in companies – some are in denial about the sinking Titanic and continue to play, while others think it’ll only affect blue-collar jobs. Clearly, they don’t yet understand the ⚡️ lightning-fast pace of AI enhancement, especially in deep learning.

🛣️ The Road Ahead

Haters are gonna hate. Don’t be a hater, folks – Bill Gates is a fascinating guy! His first book, The Road Ahead, written 28 years ago, predicted a ton of stuff that we now take for granted – like smartphones and social media. If you want to know more about the Age of AI and how it all started, check out his blog post. Trust me, it’s way more interesting than watching cat videos all day!

⚰️ We will lose you

Miro and other whiteboard tools need to up their game, or they risk being outshined by FigJam, Figma’s whiteboard tool. Unfortunately, FigJam isn’t seamlessly integrated into Figma yet since you have to open a separate file. Hopefully, Figma will let us create a page where we can easily switch between UI design and whiteboard and merge all FigJam files into a respective project. That way, we won’t have to switch between files constantly.

So Miro is making some bold claims about using AI to revolutionize your meetings. But is it really good? Let’s see 🤔

🎢 Rollercoaster of Emotions

The Emotion Wheel is an incredibly useful tool for describing a broad spectrum of positive and negative emotions and experiences and enhancing communication. Personally, I love using it in combination with the Empathy Map to match user emotions with their actions and create a comprehensive User Journey Map. It’s also beneficial in various other situations, like copywriting, user interviews, and design reviews.

📐 Improve Your Information Architecture Game

Information architecture (IA) visually organizes functional design elements and their hierarchy. It prioritizes user goals, outlines website structure, and reduces cognitive effort.

The three main deliverables and artifacts of IA are sitemaps, wireframes, and prototypes. Sitemaps provide a high-level view of the website structure, wireframes detail the layout of individual pages, and prototypes allow for user testing and feedback.

👩🏽‍💻 Use AI to get your next job

Looking for a job in the UX industry can be a daunting task, especially with so much competition out there. However, with the help of AI, you can stand out from the crowd and increase your chances of landing your dream job. Here are some tips to help you use AI to your advantage:

  • Use ChatGPT to organize and outline your ideas for your portfolio and to help you draft a compelling storyline that showcases your skills and experience.
  • Use Copy.ai to assist you in writing your case studies, making sure they are concise, engaging, and optimized for readability.
  • Use Grammarly to help you perfect your writing, ensuring that your grammar, punctuation, and style are all on point.
  • Use Beautiful.ai or Tome App to create visually stunning presentations that highlight your design skills and expertise.
  • Use Google’s Interview tool to practice your interview skills and prepare for any potential questions that may come your way.

💸 Feeling confused about the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB)? Don’t worry. Watch this explanation that even a 5th grader can understand!

🎨 After GPT4 and Midjourney 5, Adobe Firefly has arrived on the AI scene! But watch out – Adobe has some pretty tight legal restrictions that make it harder to add some flavor. I tried to ask to add some Eminem style, and they restricted some keywords from my promtp.

🥤 Pepsi just did a rebrand again! They went back to their classic waves to save their brand. But the big question is, did they manage to apply it to their digital products? We’ll have to wait and see.
